Burlingame Tuesday Volunteer Days

Description

We invite all members of the community to help care for the plants and garden beds at Burlingame Park. We meet every third Tuesday of the month from 10:00 am to Noon. Projects and tasks will be determined based on the number of volunteers who sign up.  

Event Information 

  • If you have gardening gloves, please bring them. We will have limited numbers to loan out. 

  • Dress for the weather, wear close toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. 

  • Meet on the path near the playground. 

  • All tools and instructions will be provided.

Inclement Weather Plan: If wind speeds are 25mph or more, volunteer events will be canceled due to safety issues. If there is a wind advisory in effect for the area, all events are to be canceled. If conditions are icy and unsafe for volunteers to get to the event, events will be canceled. If temperatures are below freezing and the ground is frozen, events will be canceled. If the city cancels work for the day for city employees or there is a delayed opening, then all events are canceled. If air quality indices (>100) are in the unhealthy range for sensitive groups, all volunteer events will be canceled. PP&R references OR DEQ website for air quality https://oraqi.deq.state.or.us When the heat index exceeds 100 degrees, all events will be canceled. If temperatures are in the 90’s, conditions such as site exposure will be evaluated, and work projects may be modified, or sites changed to better accommodate volunteers.
