Description

Project description: Project description: This is a new element of the Annual No Ivy Day event. It is the perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about restoration efforts in Portland, get creative and connect with community. We will provide information about some of the challenges Portland experiences with weedy introduced plants like English ivy, and materials and instruction to create a novice ivy basket or basic ivy flower wreath. No ivy or crafting experience necessary! Bring your lunch and come craft with us! We will provide the ivy, tools and crafting supplies necessary, some warm beverages and light snacks. This is a great chance to check out the newly renovated Mt. Scott Community Center.

Please note that some people can have a reaction to English ivy that may cause a rash or irritation. It may be helpful to wear long pants and long sleeves. Gloves will be provided if desired.

Please register ahead of time by selecting “respond” for an individual and “respond for a team” to register a team” to register more than one person. This event requires separate registration from the No Ivy Day volunteer events. If you are not comfortable creating a login to register for any reason, please reach out to monica.hescheles@portlandoregon.gov and we can help you get registered.
